"Very interactive and thought provoking." Effective Factual Recording with Birmingham City Council

Greetings one and all,

What a busy ole time I’ve been having. From compulsive hoarding to motivational interviewing, it has been extremely demanding few weeks. In a VERY good way. I now have a week to breathe. A week in which I’m interviewing new folks to appear in my films, creating a new safeguarding training film and also laminating like lightning as I’ve got three brand new courses to deliver in 2024! I do love laminating. I swear it puts me in a zen like state.

So, here is the response from my effective factual recording course that I created bespoke for Birmingham City Council (BCC). We have had some wonderful sessions together and it is always rewarding reading the feedback comments from the assembled learners. I appreciate that the staff at BCC are going through a particularly tough time and they are still motivated and raring to go.

On with the comments:

“Thank you for today, it was very informative and engaging 😃.”

“The training content is very relevant to my day-to-day work as a homeless centre support officer. As a support officer keeping an accurate factual record of what you have discussed with clients is crucial. I believe this has increase my knowledge of being/having an open and objective mind set in dealing with my clients. And not to be judgemental in my work.”

“The tasks and group work were very helpful in helping me understand the objectives. They also helped us get to know each other. Steven was excellent and he made the training fun, which helped me engage better.”

“Thank you very much for the training session. I have learned A LOT about how to record my notes factually and accurately. Thank you for creating a course that met all of my learning needs. Steven is an excellent trainer.”

“I didn’t know what to expect, although my colleagues have attended the course and told me how good it was. I was engaged throughout, I can find training sometimes a bit boring, but this was not the case at all and it will actually help me to do my job better.”

“Thank you for your time today – the day just flew past 😜. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but I was pleased with the delivery, the pace and your injection of humour. Thank you so much.”
