Empathy Fatigue with Stoke on Trent City Council and Concrete, "Definitely a valuable course." April 2024

I’ve had the busiest April on record and I finally get a day off to catch up on stuff and go for a walk in the countryside; I think I’ll be needing my waterproofs today…  Nothing is putting me off.  Anyhow, enough of that!  Today’s blog posts highlights the Empathy Fatigue course that I delivered for staff from Stoke on Trent City Council and Concrete, part of The Honeycomb Group.  What a day it was!  Feedback was 100% positive with some very rewarding comments added into the mix.  The learners were really enthusiastic about attending the training, which was face to face and so none of them had to ‘endure’ online training.

The newly revamped training now incorporates more tasks about self-regulation and being able to speak up and speak out about stresses and strains that professionals may be facing the workplace.  As always, ‘Christine’s Guide to Working from Home Successfully’ went down a storm, thanks to the acting skills of Charlotte Bates, who knocks it out of the park when portraying the ever so slightly unhinged Christine.  “Working from home, just turn one of your four bedrooms into an office, simple!”

We learned, we laughed and we networked.  All in all, it was a wonderful day and as you can see from the collated comments below, all were impressed.

“Excellent course that gave me self-awareness of my emotions and feelings and how I can control them to create better outcomes for both myself and my clients.”

“What a great course, very informative, I loved the pace, style and the way in which it was presented.  A GREAT day!”

“A really useful course, I feel that it should be mandatory for anyone who works in our service, it would be more beneficial than any of the other course they’ve put us on.  I enjoyed it thoroughly.”

“Very well presented.  Very friendly and warm host.  Informative and interesting.  I thoroughly enjoyed every part of the training.”

“Very engaging and informative, it gave me lots to think about.  I will hopefully book the rest of the team on this training as I think it would be very beneficial.  Thank you very much!”

“Thanks again Steve!”

“Excellent.  Very informative.”

“Very good.  Entertaining as well as informative.”

“Enjoyable.  Good fun.  Steven is inspirational.”

“Brilliant training as always.  I would love it if the whole team could do this to support their wellbeing, it is both positive and engaging, plus it enhances our contact with customers.  Thank you!”

“Steven delivered empathy fatigue with us, he was approachable, knowledgeable and relatable.  This training was excellent, not only did Steven teach us what empathy fatigue was but also what to do when you recognise that you have it.”

“I really enjoyed how the training was delivered.  I will be embedding the content of this course into my working practices.”

“Thanks so much, thoroughly enjoyed it.  It really helps us to stop and think about what makes us tick and how to improve at work.  Definitely a valuable course, I will ensure that my team attends.”
