"Steve makes any session enjoyable, interactive & interesting." Making Safeguarding Personal, Feb 2024

Greetings one and all,

I recently delivered my brand-new course, ‘That Human Moment’ Making Safeguarding Personal to staff from Stoke on Trent City Council via the Expert Citizens Insight Academy. The course has undergone something of a revamp after my initial launch earlier in January. As a trainer, sometimes you know, regardless of the positive comments that the course could be better, stronger, more streamlined. And so, I threw on my thinking cap and began the revamp. A tweak here, a new activity here and fair bit of laminating later (of course!) and the new course emerged. It was indeed better and I was extremely pleased by the collated feedback comments courtesy of Jonathan Goodwin at the Insight Academy. Sometimes it does pay to be a perfectionist you know.

I have retained the films that I created with people from across Stoke on Trent who have lived experience of a safeguarding enquiry. The assembled learners were especially appreciative of Malcolm and his story. They were very moved by his honesty and also his passion to make positive changes and encourage other people in a similar situation to embrace a post traumatic response. A massive thank you to Lee from Expert Citizens for being instrumental in my interviewing the people who informed so much of the training. The training continues throughout March, April and May.

On with the comments, all 100% positive and in my case an affirmation that we are doing some really good work here:
