Wednesday brought the #INSIGHTAwards2023 to Staffordshire University and it was day like no other. It was wonderful hearing the inspirational stories, meeting fantastic people, both new and lifelong chums. Jonathan Goodwin was working his magic behind the scenes, which reminded me a great deal of us both creating an award ceremony back in 2012. Our salad days...
Charlotte Bates and Darren Murinas hosted the event like a pair of pros and we were immersed in the lived experience of all that attended. As Charlotte said, 'lived experience is like a super power.' They were the heroes, along with David Ford, Lisa Newman, Zakarriyah Katakyie Addae-kodua Khalil, Terry Nelson, the legend that is Mark Bracewell and the exceptional Sharon McPherson.
Thank you one and all for a wonderful, INSIGHTFUL day and long may we continue to make a difference to people's lives.
And that buffet... Blimey, don't you know I'm on a diet?
