"I would highly recommend it to other colleagues." Effective Factual Recording with BCC June 2023

Greetings folks,

I’ve been sweltering in this heat and still haven’t stopped. It’s been wall to wall training and I’m loving it, I don’t think I’ve ever been so popular. The feedback from the sessions has been most heartwarming and in the case of Stuart from Birmingham City Council, I have made some changes based on his feedback. So, next week will see the newly revamped Effective Factual Recording, which now includes a new training film and also some activities around stress levels and prioritising work. I LOVE to receive constructive feedback, especially when people take the time to reflect and go, ‘do you know what Steven, how about adding this… or removing this…’ I’m here to learn too!

Onward with the learner feedback comments:

“Engaging with an excellent balance of tasks. Very interested to hear more about the murder mysteries you write!!”

“Very interactive and informative.”

“Thank you for a wonderfully presented course. I have to say, this training was the best one I have attended in a long while. You presented the information very well and it was easy to listen to and follow. The content was great, and it had a good mix of theory and practical’s (very interactive and engaging). You held my attention throughout.”

“I thought, ‘how can you do a day on effective factual recording?’ And then I found it was Steve delivering the training and I thought, ‘it’ll be good anyway!’ And it was and I learned loads. Thanks Steve.”

“I am usually the type to dread the interactive training sessions, I hate speaking in front of loads of people and usually fear I will look like an idiot, but in your sessions, you make people feel comfortable and they are actually enjoyable. So, thank you. You learn a lot about yourself when doing this session and it makes you think about how you come across to others, especially customers. You can take away some good skills from the training.”

“A very good, informative and thought-provoking session. Thank you.”

“Thank you for your time today, it was a very good session.”

“Many thanks for the training today, I found it very helpful.”

“Thank you for a great session, I thoroughly enjoyed.”

“Thank you for the training Steven. I found it extremely useful and relevant for my job role. All the group exercises were a useful opportunity to get a better understanding of how to accurately record our case notes and put this into good practice. The training was engaging and very well organised with just the right amount of content. I would highly recommend it to other colleagues to attend.”

“I really enjoyed todays training. It was informative, making me realise that I sometimes record ‘applicant was abusive’ without going into the finer details. I found it engaging, both in the drop out rooms and outside of it, I think having the cameras on helped with this aspect tremendously. Coming from a nursing background I am aware of record keeping but this session has reminded me of, ’if it’s not down it wasn’t done.’ Thank you for today, I look forward to any more sessions that you may be holding and will look out for them.”

“Interesting, well presented, enjoyable and relevant. Can see the validity of this, especially for people new to BCC and staff who sometimes struggle to communicate. In a very busy world, to have this training can be both good (Reminds me I am correct in what I do) and bad (There is work that I will have to try and catch up on as I’ve spent a day training).”
