Well, that was a good start!
Hello one and all, welcome back to the Steven Talbot blog. Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of venturing to Stafford Children’s Centre and delivering my newly revamped ‘It’s Just Banter Mate’ -Respect and Inclusion training.
I like to think that I imbue my training with something a little bit different and the section I created on Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities went down exceptionally well, all of that is of course down to my interviewee, Lawrence. I also introduced everyone to my new trans film which highlights how Jamie just wants to get on with life and embrace being authentic and at peace with himself. I have crafted a wholly new training experience, all new activities, new training films, thank you to Jamie and Lawrence for sharing their stories.
I particularly enjoyed the fact we debated, we listened and we disagreed and it was all done in a respectful and nurturing environment. Everything was up for debate and nothing was off the table. I was blown away by the learner comments, which you can see below. It’s only when organisations are open and honest and allow debate that minds and processes start to change.
Thank you Miranda and Hazel for commissioning me in the first place.
“The training was very informative. The style of delivery from the trainer was just right for such a tough subject. The way in which he weaved legislation into real stories with people from Staffordshire was exceptional.”
