“I cannot express how much I appreciate the effort that Steven puts into his training sessions. The films, the activities, the various discussion topics. Plus, he creates a safe environment where we can talk openly and honestly about the barriers we face when supporting our families. He’s also a top bloke.”
Greetings one and all,
A huge thank you to EVERYONE at Stoke on Trent City Council for assisting me in creating the new Relational Practice training course. We’ve been back and forth and back and forth with ‘do I include this?’ and ‘do I leave that bit out?’ etc. Well, we finally have lift off and the assembled learners LOVED the day, even though it was inside a red-hot training room for seven hours… Oh blimey, how we needed a fan that day.
So, what’s the training all about? So, what’s the craic? The course is a full day of interactive, hands-on learning. Full to the brim with Stoke specific lived experience. Real people, real stories of people from Stoke on Trent, both the ups and the downs. We explore the great practice that is supporting the lives of children and families across our local area. The course is there to equip learners with the skills to support and encourage all manner of people. Whilst examining any conscious or unconscious beliefs that inform our reactions.
Shall we have a look at the 100% positive collated feedback? Well, why not:
“Steven was brilliant. He delivered the training on a hot day in a hot room, and he STILL managed to keep everyone engaged. His presence and the way in which he engages with people is excellent.”
“I enjoyed the training; Steven is a font of all knowledge.”
“I found today’s training session to be both creative and interactive. Lots of activities to reinforce the learning. All very practical that backed up the theory.”
“I felt that the training was full of information and delivered in a wholly interactive way by a professional and friendly trainer. Thank you and please can we have more training with you?”
“A really informative and engaging training session. It was really good to be able to self-reflect in a safe environment and address some of the issues that are affecting us as professionals.”
“The training was extremely useful, and I will use the hints and tips that Steven gave us. His training films are exceptional. It was fascinating listening to ‘lived experience’ from Nina.”
“As always with Steven Talbot Consultancy – a thoroughly interactive and brilliant training day.”
“A great refresher on relational practice. Great level of knowledge from the trainer, Steven.”
“Steven was very engaging and the subject was delivered with real passion by a trainer who not only talks to the talk but walks the walk. It is SO important to have training from people who understands the pressures of working for a local authority and being in Stoke on Trent.”
“This session has been very interactive with various activities. It was interesting to explore the barriers to communication, especially as I have experienced these barriers with various families that I’ve supported. Excellent training, a lot of thought has gone into this.”
“Really engaging training that enabled healthy discissions and debate. Thought provoking.”
“Excellent training, thank you Steven. You breathed new life into an old subject. Great original materials, which captured the attention of the class throughout the day. I appreciated the thread of humour that runs through the training. Thanks again Steven.”
