"To put it bluntly I loved the training." Compulsive Hoarding Training with Trent and Dove, Feb 2025
Greetings one and all,
I have had the best of days delivering Compulsive Hoarding training to the troops from Trent and Dove - Transforming Homes, Lives & Communities in Burton on Trent. The assembled staff members were very amenable to the training and I think initially they wondered, ‘what on earth is this!?’ Because after all, the Steven Talbot way of training is a bit different, no death by PowerPoint with me. The learners threw themselves into each of the activities and I have to commend Mitch, Mica and Lorna for their fabulous performances during one of the ‘secret tasks.’
Everyone really wanted to make a difference to the lives of people who are compulsively hoarding and it was extremely heartening to hear the stories of support, post traumatic growth and empathy. I certainly left with a spring in my step. I can see that emotional support is at the forefront of what Trent and Dove is all about. Wonderful stuff!
My course, ‘Trapped and Drowning in My Things’ has always been popular and now that I’ve updated it for 2025, with new activities, new interviews and new success stories, I think it’s gone up a notch!
