"Thought-provoking training" Wonderful morning with staff from Birmingham City Council

Greetings one and all what a GREAT start to the week I’m having.

I’ve continued my ‘Dealing with Potential Aggression’ bespoke training sessions with the staff from Birmingham City Council and what a great time was had by all. Feedback was (as you’d no doubt imagine) extremely encouraging and I was blown away by the motivation on display from the troops. Excellent work all round and the technology worked without a hitch! Praise be! I’m getting used to the MS Teams and Zoom sessions. I miss the classroom and the intimacy of the one on one support I always offer and of course one day soon we’ll be heading back there, until then…

Do take a look at a smattering of the learner comments:

“Really enjoyed the course, working for the council for over 30 years in a face to face job made me able to relate to his various examples of both citizens and work colleagues. I was very impressed with the DESC principle and I’m going to put into practice with my future interviews / appointment.” David

“Think the course is very useful and think that it will be good for a few of my colleagues.” Gary

“Really good session. This will not only help in the work place but also in my personal life too, so I’m really glad I was able to attend. As a bonus we we’re told that this is only part 1, so I’m looking forward to the next session to embed into practice the head knowledge I was given today.” Jadene

“Steven is very knowledgeable on this subject and made the course interesting and interactive. Also thought provoking in that you need to look at other people’s behaviours in various situations BUT to also look at yourself and how you can work with colleagues and customers to get good positive outcomes for all involved.” Jeannie

“I thought this training was extremely interesting particularly because of the way Steven delivered this. I enjoy training much more when it’s ‘real’ and he showed true passion, humour and realism around this topic. I would 100% recommend this to others and I know other colleagues who have done so too. Thanks very much and I hope to receive further training from you in the future.” Laura

“The session was very informative and very easy to follow. I found the trainer very knowledgeable about the topic and gave a lot of relevant personal examples, which I found relatable. The objectives were clear and covered all the aspects of the topic. The session had clear rules of how participants should be treated – to be respectful to each other. I now feel confidently assertive about dealing with managing of conflict in the workplace and my personal life.” Maureen

“I loved the drawings, the DESC, use of different activities, i.e. videos, group sessions, open to ask questions and to participate. Thank you.” Zonia
