Greetings one and all,
These blog posts are coming thick and fast now. Well, they would, as I’m having a bit of a break from the coal face. I’ve worked flat out since April and now I think it’s time for a holiday. Before I skedaddle, I thought it best to share the wonderful work we’ve all been doing. First of all, I recently had the pleasure of training the troops from Wolverhampton Council. As always, they were a splendid bunch. I always find Wolverhampton Council staff to be warm, inviting and ready to learn.
I created the Motivational Interviewing course for teams working alongside children, young people and their parents and carers. This included filmed interviews with three residents who have interacted with services. I loved hearing the tales of the people I interviewed, especially people like Danielle, written off as, ‘hard to engage with’ and now rocking her new life!
Each and every person who attended the course was exceptional. I had the pleasure of listening in as each of them practiced their skills. At no point were any of them negative, ambivalent or disengaged. They were ON IT! A brilliant day with some brilliant people.
