The 'Power of Persuasion' with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue - November 2018

Yesterday was spent with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue at their headquarters in Stone, Staffordshire. I spent four hours in the company of the 2018 firefighter recruits during their prevention training. With me, they looked at the ‘power of persuasion’ and active listening skills. We were joined by four great actors, who really put the fire crews through their paces. The bottle of whiskey was certainly a talking point, never mind the helicopter!
Also, in attendance were the always wonderful and rousing; Rio, Mick, John and Mark.
Lots of laughter, lots of career development and learning and embedding of new skills.
Feedback was uniformly excellent, with lots of lovely comments (that I’ve yet to collate!) Needless to say, this is the beginning of their journey and the continuation of mine with Staffs Fire and Rescue.
Heading in to 2019 I will be creating and delivering specific learning and development for the truly inspiring troops from today’s training. Onward, ever onward! 2019 is going to be a busy year.
